The Brand New Testament received ten nominations at the 6th Magritte Awards, winning four awards, including Best Film and Best Director for Van Dormael.
Belgium sent The Brand New Testament to the Foreign-Language Oscar Race.
The film was also nominated for the Best Motion Picture in a Foreign Language at the Golden Globes.
It is a co-production between Belgium, France, and Luxembourg.
